A month ago, we shared this study which analyzed America’s tweets to see if beer or sex mattered more to each state.
Using the same method, Drugabuse.com has analyzed over 450,000 tweets for buzzwords relating to drugs, sex and gambling in order to determine the vice capitals of the country. For example, to determine which state was the capital of marijuana usage, they combed Twitter for the words “marijuana,” “ganj,” “weed,” “reefer,” “pot,” and “kush.” Appropriately, they found these words most tweeted from Denver, confirming it as the weed capital of the country.
